A Whole Lot of Little Life

After graduating with my undergraduate degree, the reality of attending graduate school for counselling psychology confronted me with the reality that I was entering a field of consequence. I thought that my future was planned for me, perhaps in a way I was unprepared for, and like many of my classmates, was afraid that the work and time might not be worth it. To cope with my feelings at the time, I created this comic about the most important things I wanted out of my life and interestingly, I did not mention my career once.
Many people find themselves in counselling because of feelings of uncertainty or "stuckness". As a person, I empathize deeply with these clients. As a counsellor, I encourage people to examine what is the most important to them to serve as a guiding light.
Some years later, I still read my comic during times I am feeling uncertain about my future. I find that what I want most out of my life has remained the same.
